There's a new trailer out for party-based apocalyptic RPG Wasteland 3, and the Desert Rangers are going to have to balance the needs of the many with the needs of the few in order to survive. A group known as the Patriarch of Colorado could prove to be the ally that your ragtag bunch need to help the populace of your own wasted state of Arizona — getting that help means crossing dangerous territory and taking on a slew of enemies, including a cult. But does the Patriarch have a hidden agenda?
The trailer launched at Gamescom and it seems that the series has had not just a graphical uptick but some noticeable changes to the combat too. Check it out:
This game will be Brian Fargo's swansong, after working on games such as Fallout, The Bard's Tale and Torment: Tides of Numenera. The veteran developer has been in the industry for almost four decades and has decided that Wasteland 3 will be the game at which he "drops the mic" and moves onto new pastures. If the full game lives up to the promise of the trailer, he'll be going out on a high.
Wasteland 3 is scheduled to hit PC, Xbox One and PS4 in early 2020.
