Hyper Scape is officially in open beta. Announced during Ubisoft’s first Ubisoft Forward event on Sunday, the publisher’s brand new hero shooter / battle royale crossover can be played by PC players right now.
A colourful cast of characters leads this cyberspace first-person shooter that appears to combine elements of many of the leaders in the battle royale genre. That’s not to say the game lacks its own style. It’s combined bright and accessible visuals with an intriguingly futuristic backstory that could make this a surprise hit.
Whether Hyper Scape will be able to topple genre juggernauts like Overwatch, Fortnite and Apex Legends is anyone’s guess, but this new Ubisoft game is certainly going to try. Watch the full gameplay trailer below and see what you think.
Hyper Scape is set for release on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. No news on next-generation console versions has been shared.
