Windjammers 2 developer and “diehard retro fans” at DotEmu have shared the first footage of their new game — a sequel to the cult classic originally released in 1994 on the NeoGeo.
The footage shows off the game’s gorgeous-looking art style and the kind of fast, fluid, gameplay that’s expected from a Windjammers sequel. The clip also introduces a new character, Max, playing alongside a returning Mita. Previously confirmed characters Wessel and Grace also appear.
The video also shows off a host of new abilities, which DotEmu say will add another level of depth to the surprisingly complex Windjammers formula.

Windjammers 2 is releasing on PC and Nintendo Switch sometime in 2019.
