Of course it is. Jackbox Party Packs appear to be one of the few remaining constants in my life, alongside ever-worsening global climate and my inability to do skandasana in yoga. But while both my knees and the planet are probably screwed, at least I can spend the remaining time on this burning sphere doing what I do best: trouncing my friends at a range of games.
For those unfamiliar with Jackbox (and I suspect, given we were forced indoors for two years, that number has dwindled significantly), it's a selection of five games requiring skills such as lying, improvising, drawing, sorting, and screwing your friends over. You use your smart phone or any web-connected device as a controller, and away you go.
This year's pack includes: Quixort, where you sort answers into the correct order in teams; Junktopia, where you have to create backstories for weird antiques; Nonsensory, a drawing and writing game which tests your friends' abilities to get on each other's wavelength; Roomerang, a weird reality TV-inspired popularity game; and the return of the popular lying title Fibbage 4.
Other than Fibbage, all of the titles are new IP for this year and it's impossible to say how fun they are going to be in person, but Jackbox's quality is rarely low and even the duffest titles are usually fun to come back to now and again (with the exception of the horrendous Word Spud from the first pack). We're looking forward to getting our hands on this next month, so check back for our review!
