Sonic the Hedgehog returns in Sonic Frontiers — a brand new game starring the Blue Bomber announced during The Game Awards 2021.
Not much is known about the new title, although the short announcement trailer (below) seems to suggest some kind of open world is planned for everyone’s favourite blue hedgehog — it makes a change from kart racing or Olympic sports, I suppose.
The trailer showcases a number of locations throughout what appears to be a vast, open, map whilst the description on the announcement trailer describes the game as “an experience like never before”.
What we do know is that Sonic Frontiers is being developed by Sonic Team and will come to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC sometime in 2022.
