The reboot of Saints Row looks to deliver upon the series’ signature ridiculous nature, much of which can be seen in the brand new trailer showcased during The Game Awards 2021.
Fast driving, jet flying, wingsuiting action can all be seen in the trailer, alongside an absurd amount of guns, some weird and wonderful costumes and the crude humour the franchise is known for. The new trailer gives us more insight into the world of Santo Ileso — an area inspired by the American Southwest — which appears to contain a few different biomes, from a sprawling desert to a packed metropolis.
Remasters and re-releases aside, it’s been eight years since the last proper Saints Row game. What’s more, with a new single-player Grand Theft Auto game seemingly a way off, this Saints Row reboot could also seek to fill that huge gap in the market.
Saints Row is set to release on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on August 28th 2022.
