Yesterday, Georgia-based indie developers Hi-Rez announced that their latest game, Paladins, is finally coming to the Nintendo Switch. It will be released worldwide on the Nintendo Switch next week, on June 12. Paladins is already out on PC, Mac, PS4 and XBox One and is enjoyed by millions so the move to the Switch will enable even more people to play.
“We’re thrilled to bring one of the world’s most popular shooters to an incredible platform like Nintendo Switch. Players will experience the same fantastic team-based shooter gameplay they know and love in Paladins, now in the palms of their hands.” - Chris Larson, Paladins Executive Producer
For those who do not know about the game, Paladins is a team-based strategic shooter which combines a unique deck building system. You must use both guns and magic to create a badass Champion of the Realm and then enter into team skirmishes to prove you and your team are the best! Team work is completely key to success in the game. You must designated front-line Champions for securing objectives, support Champions for keeping everyone alive, Champions to flank and attack from the backline and finally those hard-hitting, damage-dealing Champions to bring the opposition down. The deck building system allows players to create a Champion which perfectly fits their style of play.
Upon its initial release, you can buy Paladins on Nintendo Switch from the Nintendo eShop for $29.99. This includes all 36 Champions currently in the game, all future Champions and a number of exclusive cosmetic items. As with all Hi-Rez games, there will be a free version of Paladins on the Switch but that isn't going to be released until later this summer. The other great thing about this release is the fact that players on the Switch will be able to play crossplay multiplayer with players on the XBox One and it will be running at 60 FPS on both handheld and docked mods making the game flawless in whichever mode you prefer to play in.
