It's About Time for Crash Bandicoot 4 — Releasing October 2nd 2020
Crash Bandicoot is back — again. Announced on Monday following a few leaks, Crash Bandicoot: It’s About Time will arrive on PS4 and Xbox One this October. What’s more, it picks up right where Crash Bandicoot Warped left off.
Seriously, the game directly follows the events of a game first released in 1998 — of course, people may be slightly more familiar given the success of the N Sane Trilogy — and is set to star Crash and his sister Coco as they trail the newly escaped, time-travelling, Neo Cortex, Dr. N. Tropy and Uka Uka.
The game, developed by Toys for Bob, will also see a host of new masks (how fitting!) helping Crash and Coco along the way — each one bringing new abilities to the table. Two masks have been revealed so far. The time mask will slow down time, naturally, whilst the gravity mask turns gravity on its head.
Based on the trailer (above) we can expect plenty of classic Crash Bandicoot action, including smashing boxes and running towards the camera. The N Sane Trilogy proved that classic Crash is what people want, so classic Crash is what people will get. Albeit, in a smoother and shinier package.
Crash Bandicoot: It’s About Time will release on PS4 and Xbox One on October 2nd. There is currently no word on a Switch port or next-generation versions.
