The expansion pass for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity will receive its first wave on June 18th with Wave 2 arriving in September. The dates were announced during the E3 2021 Nintendo Direct on Tuesday; almost serving as a ‘fake out’ for the eventual teaser for the sequel to The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild (Link - oh, wait, he meant a different type. D'oh - ed.).
Titled Pulse of the Ancients, the expansion’s first wave will include new playable characters, new weapons and the addition of a Master Cycle for Link. The pass also adds more enemies to battle, more challenges to take on and additional difficulty levels.
Wave 2 of the expansion, coming in September, will add “new battle skills for existing characters,” as well as new stages, character vignettes and even more characters.
The expansion pass is available to owners of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity for $19.99 across the pond, so likely similar numbers in a different currency over here. The game is set 100 years before the events of Breath of the Wild and sees players taking on hordes of enemies in typical musou hack and slash style.
