Horizon: Forbidden West will receive a gameplay reveal as part of a PlayStation State of Play presentation this week. Starting at 10PM UK time on Thursday May 27th, the stream will be available to watch on PlayStation’s official Twitch and YouTube channels.

Viewers can expect 14 minutes of gameplay from the Horizon sequel, with everything captured on a PlayStation 5 and, personally, I’m hoping we get a sense of how the DualSense controller will immerse players in the world. Guerilla Games' studio director Angie Smets has confirmed that players will ‘feel the long grass’ when moving in stealth.

Few other details are known at this point. Per Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan, the game is still slated for release in 2021, but will we get an actual release date? Fingers crossed.

A sequel to Horizon: Zero Dawn, Forbidden West was first announced during the inaugural PlayStation 5 event (although it will also release on PS4). We got a glimpse of some of the game’s different biomes — lush greenery, dusty deserts and even the potential for new underwater areas — but little else has been revealed thus far.
