Defiant Development’s card-based action RPG Hand of Fate 2 will release its first DLC on Steam on December 20th, with console versions arriving next year.
The first pack adds The Dealer as a playable companion to the roster, accessible after the game’s final challenge is completed. With a selection of ranged attacks and gambits to employ alongside his customary taunts and quips, his switch to the other side of the table could make an interesting addition to the respected title which has already sold over 100,000 copies in less than two months.
In a press release Morgan Jaffit, director of Defiant Development, stated: "Love or hate the Dealer, players will be thrilled to have more of him than ever before, transforming our most memorable character into a companion."
The original Hand of Fate was downloaded over 2.5 million times, and the franchise’s success has lead to a Kickstarted boardgame — the most funds an Australian tabletop game has received in the crowdfunding site’s history — due for launch in Q2 2018.
