We haven't had a GRID game since 2014's GRID Autosport. An evolution of Codemaster's TOCA series, 2008 saw Race Driver: GRID and 2013 its sequel GRID 2.
The player got to build a career in motorsport with all the fun and games surrounding it. The racing itself was high quality and pitched somewhere between full-on arcade racing and the more commonplace sims we have today. Perhaps the best thing the series brought us was the flashback mechanic, allowing you to reset yourself and go again if you had a problem. Like a totalled car, for instance. This particular mechanic can be seen in many racing — and other games — since.
Anyway, we have a reboot/sequel coming October 11th 2019. And we now have the first gameplay video for you all to watch. First though, how about some words from the developers?
