Final Fantasy VII Remake has been re-revealed with a brand new trailer shown off at PlayStation’s State of Play showcase on Thursday (May 9th).
Showing off beautiful cinematics and brand new gameplay, we now have a firmer idea of what to expect from the long-awaited, eagerly-anticipated, remake to one of the best and most important games of all time. Unsurprisingly, it looks great.
A change from the game’s original turn-based JRPG roots it may be, but delivering Final Fantasy VII in an arguably more accessible (and inarguably prettier) way is probably a smart move for Square Enix who will want to attract as many people as possible to their latest flagship title.
The trailer ends with “More to come in June” so whether that’s at Square Enix’s E3 press conference on June 10th (9pm EST / 6pm PDT / 2am — June 11th — BST) or at the Final Fantasy concert earlier that week, or both, we’ll have to wait and see. However, it appears that this game — one seemingly doomed to live in development hell for a little while at least — could be coming sooner than we all thought.
