Ubisoft announced Far Cry 6 will release on 7th October worldwide on pretty much every platform and digital storefront. Not Nintendo Switch though, unsurprisingly.
Set in Yara, a tropical paradise frozen in time in the heart of the Caribbean, players will experience the adrenaline rush and chaos of guerrilla combat as they join the revolution to liberate Yaran people from the oppressive rule of dictator Antón Castillo and his teenage son Diego – brought to life by Giancarlo Esposito (The Mandalorian, Breaking Bad) and Anthony Gonzalez (Coco).
Far Cry 6 gives you agency to experience your game by supporting your playstyle, be that stealthily or full-on boom boom. There will be allmkinds of weapons to experience as well as new and exciting ways to travel from place to place, perhaps on horseback or in some kind of DIY vehicle. Intriguing, huh?
Perhaps most importantly you'll be able to partner with animal friends, doggies or crocodiles, for instance. The game has two-player co-op, but it's unclear as yet if one of you gets to play as the dog or bitey thing. Here's hoping.
There are pre-order bonuses, specifically the “Libertad Pack” which includes the “Libertad Outfit” for Chorizo and the state-of-the-art “Discos Locos”, a weaponised disc launcher that sounds painful. If you buy the game on Xbox One or PlayStation 4 you will be able to upgrade to next gen at no additional cost on the Xbox Series and the PlayStation 5.
We're excited by this latest in the series and look forward to bringing you more information as soon as we can.
