The Egret Mini II was released this week, providing a burst of nostalgia for arcade gamers of the 80s and 90s. Packed with 40 pre-installed Taito games, the mini machine boasts a 5-inch 4:3 rotating monitor and an adjustable 6-button arcade layout and joystick.
If you prefer a larger format, a handy HDMI output lets you play on TV while two USB-A controller ports have been added for optional Egret II mini controllers. As well as the 40 games thrown into the mix including classics such as Bubble Bobble and New Zealand Story and cult hits like Rastan and Darius Gaiden, there is an SD slot to allow the addition of more.
Stereo speakers pump out the tunes you will remember from wandering around sticky-floored arcades, but the Egret II Mini also adds in features more suited to modern gamers with busy lives, such as save states, rapid-fire and adjustable lives.
