Classic comic book brawler X-Men is getting the Arcade 1Up treatment — and pre-orders for the machine launch on July 15th. Announced earlier this year, this is a throwback to the seminal 90s animated series — that I was obsessed with as a kid — and you’ll soon be able to bring this 1992 Konami classic home to your very own X-Mansion.
Taking control of Cyclops, Wolverine, Colossus, Storm, Nightcrawler, or Dazzler, all of them adorned in their classic outfits, players will do battle with armies of Sentinels and other X-Men villains like Mystique and Juggernaut.
Much like the recently announced ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ and ‘The Simpsons’ machines, these Konami classics hold a lot of nostalgia for people of a certain age (my age) and the chance to have them at home could be very tempting.
No pricing has been announced for the machine thus far but with Arcade 1Up’s original ‘TMNT’ machine retailing for £349.99, it’s safe to expect this will be somewhere around that price.
