Nintendo’s showing during the company’s E3 2021 presentation on Tuesday was filled with big games and surprises. Not only was there a trailer for the sequel to The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, we also got a glimpse at the first 2D Metroid game for almost two decades, the return of Advance Wars and even a new WarioWare game

It was packed! And on top of all the big announcements there were a few other things that we thought you’d want to know about. So, here’s everything else that was announced during the E3 2021 Nintendo Direct.

Mario Golf Super Rush To Get Free Post-Launch Updates

Mario hits the links once again on June 25th and Nintendo has announced that Mario Golf Super Rush players will receive additional post-launch content for free. What exactly those updates will be has yet to be announced. However, Nintendo made it clear that this game is already full of content for solo players and multiplayer fans alike.

On top of the game’s Standard Golf mode, you’ll be able to play rounds of fast and furious Speed Golf, compete with friends across an expansive map in Battle Golf and take your Mii to glory in Super Rush’s Gold Adventure Mode.

Guardians of the Galaxy is Coming to Switch

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy are getting their own game on October 26th, courtesy of Eidos Montreal and Square Enix. Already announced for PC, PlayStation and Xbox, there will also be a Nintendo Switch port releasing on the same day — with a bit of a catch.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cloud Version will be available for Nintendo’s console, meaning players will have to stream the game as opposed to owning it locally.

Two Point Campus Comes to Switch in 2022

Much like Guardians of the Galaxy, this is one we heard about earlier in the week. Still, the Bullfrog-inspired university sim Two Point Campus is coming to Nintendo Switch in 2022.

Astria Ascending Arrives on September 30th

Astria Ascending is a JRPG developed by Artisan Studios. A new character trailer unveiled during today’s Nintendo briefing introduced the game’s eight playable heroes and also confirmed its September 30th Release date.

Also shown off in the trailer was some of the game’s turn-based mechanics and hints towards the game’s job system. Whilst the game’s story, described as “an expansive story of fate, sacrifice, and new beginnings, has been penned by Kazushige Nojima (Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy VII Remake) so it’s got some serious pedigree. Same goes for the score, composed by Hitoshi Sakimoto (Final Fantasy XII, Vagrant Story).

Whilst the date was announced by Nintendo, the game is also coming to PlayStation, Xbox and PC on September 30th.

Worms Rumble Comes to Switch on June 23rd

The real-time take on classic Worms destruction arrives on Nintendo Switch on June 23rd.

Launched in November elsewhere, Worms Rumble will also come with a few extras when it makes its late arrival. First of all, the game will launch alongside the new ‘Spaceport Showdown’ map and, secondly, an exclusive Patchwork Bear costume will be available for free to Switch players.

Just Dance 2022 Comes to Switch

Ubisoft’s Just Dance 2022 is coming to Switch on November 4th, so slip into some loose clothing.

Life Is Strange Comes To Switch This September

Both Life Is Strange True Colours and Life Is Strange Remastered Collection — which combines the original game and Beyond the Storm in a new, updated, package — will come to Nintendo Switch starting this September.

True Colours will launch alongside the PlayStation, Xbox and PC versions on September 10th. No date has been given for the Switch version of the Remastered Collection. However, I’m a little salty that we aren’t getting an anime-style Life Is Strange like we saw at the beginning of this trailer.

Cruis’n Blast is a Nintendo Switch exclusive — coming in “Fall”

Arcade racer Cruis’n Blast is coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch this autumn.

Published by Raw Thrills — whose co-founder is original Cruis’n designer Eugene Jarvis (per Polygon) — the game was released in arcades in 2017. The game will feature 23 cars for players to race across 29 different tracks with up to four-player local co-op possible.

Dragon Ball Z Kakarot + A New Power Awakens Set Journeys to Switch in September

Dragon Ball Z Kakarot is an RPG set in the ‘Dragon Ball Z’ universe, which faithfully follows the story of Goku from the anime, allowing players to meet their favourite characters, partake in huge battles, and take on a huge amount of side quests.

Released for Xbox, PlayStation and PC in 2020, the game finally makes its way to Nintendo’s console — complete with both parts of its A New Power Awakens DLC — on September 24th.

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin Is Released

Another trailer for the forthcoming story-based Monster Hunter game, launching July 9th.

A free playable demo will be added to the Nintendo e-Shop on June 25th with progress carrying over to the main game.

Murderous Visual Novel Danganronpa Comes to Switch Later This Year

All four games in the Danganronpa series will launch on Nintendo Switch later this year as the franchise celebrates its 10th anniversary. With the first two games being released on PlayStation Vita, this seems like a no-brainer.

Available individually from the Nintendo e-Shop, a physical collection of Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, Danganronpa 2: Goodnight Despair, Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony and an expanded version of the Danganronpa board game from V3.

DOOM Eternal’s First DLC Pack Is Now Available

DOOM Eternal The Ancient Gods Part 1 is now available for the Nintendo Switch version of the game. Both parts of the content launched last year for other platforms.

An expansion for the DOOM Eternal campaign, the DLC takes the Doom Slayer to new areas to slay even more demons. Standard.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 Arrive on Switch June 25th

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 will finally come to the Nintendo Switch on June 25th, so now you can execute ridiculous combos on the go.

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope Gets Another Trailer

Originally revealed by Ubisoft — and a leak before that — last week, Mario + Rabbids got another trailer spot during the Nintendo Direct on Tuesday, with a little more on the more free-form tactical gameplay we’ll see in the sequel to Kingdom Battle.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD Trailer

Players can discover the history of Zelda, the Master Sword and more when the earliest game in the Legend of Zelda timeline comes to Nintendo Switch next month.

Originally released on the Wii, the game is available to be played with motion controls or (slightly) more traditional controls in handheld mode.

Phew, that was a lot of games. Whilst Nintendo did double up on a few of the other presentations we’ve seen this week, it’s understandable given the amount of eyes on their product versus those of third parties.

With everything announced it certainly looks like the Switch will be having a very healthy 2021.
