Back 4 Blood is the latest game to launch on Xbox Game Pass. News of the announcement leaked on Reddit earlier this week (per Eurogamer) via the description of a YouTube video that has since been removed. However, the news has been confirmed at the Xbox Bethesda Showcase.
A spiritual sequel to Left 4 Dead, developed by Turtle Rock Studios — a studio which hosts many former Left 4 Dead developers — the game is a co-op zombie shooter in which up to 4 players tackle hordes of zombies and other undead nightmares in a series of maps.
Also announced was a new Zombies vs Humans PVP mode. First announced in March 2019, the game is set for release on October 12th on Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
An open beta for the game was announced during the Summer Game Fest Kickoff presentation on Thursday. The beta will begin on August 5th, but you’ll need to pre-order to play.
