A remake of Panzer Dragoon was a huge surprise announcement from Nintendo on Tuesday. An announcement trailer debuted during the E3 2019 Nintendo Direct, marking the first release for the series since Panzer Dragoon: Orta in 2002 on the original Xbox (backwards compatible on Xbox One as of April 2018).
First released on the Sega Saturn in 1995, Panzer Dragoon is a bonafide cult classic. The remake will be handled by Forever entertainment. As reported by Polygon, Panzer Dragoon: Zwei, the second game in the series, will also be “refreshed”. This announcement was made in an official announcement from Forever Entertainment.
Panzer Dragoon: Remake will come this winter for Nintendo Switch and is set to feature an updated, modernised control system alongside a clear graphical upgrade. You can watch the short gameplay trailer below.
Nintendo’s Direct from E3 this year was absolutely stacked. You can watch the whole thing over on Nintendo’s YouTube channel.
