Battle Princess Madelyn is a side-scrolling platformer in the mould of classic arcade games such as Ghosts 'n' Goblins, but one which ups the ante significantly with a selection of seriously tough bosses — many of which come from the mind of seven-year-old co-creator Maddie, daughter of Causal Games director Christopher Obritsch.
After a successful Kickstarter and two solid years of graft, the final game is launching on PC and Xbox One tomorrow. PS4 and Switch versions will be released next week.
The game is clearly influenced by Christopher's interest in the action platform genre of yesteryear, and if the trailer is anything to go by, Maddie's enemy design proves she has a bright future in the game industry.
